James A. Burnham III

Jim is a well-seasoned attorney with over 25 years of experience litigating business cases in Florida, California, Illinois and North Carolina. His practice areas include fraud and negligence cases, contract disputes, real estate litigation, shareholder derivative actions, construction litigation, appellate matters, and homeowners and condominium association disputes, including master association and country club conflicts. He prides himself on taking a forward-thinking approach to litigation so that he can counsel his clients not only on the best paths to take to solve their current problems, but also with respect to any future issues that may stem from the actions taken to address those problems. Jim graduated cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, N.Y., with a B.S. in Management Information Systems, and went on to graduate near the top of his class at Duke University School of Law in North Carolina. He was a feature film screenwriter in Los Angeles, California while practicing law there in the 1990's and uses his gift for storytelling to craft compelling and persuasive written arguments for his clients. Jim is a member of the Florida Bar, the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the Craig S. Barnard Inn of Court, and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. He serves as Vice Chair of the Risk Management Committee for SunFest, Florida's premiere music and arts festival, and when he's not practicing law Jim is playing pickup soccer, singing, writing fiction and volunteering his time to help the homeless.
